Our general biology major offers a wide variety of experiences including hands-on laboratory experiments and the field research done around the islands of scenic Hawaii. Concepts like conservation endemic and native species, the anatomy and morphology of plants and animals along with the hands-on study if various local ecosystems are areas of study.

Career Opportunities
Students are well prepared to pursue careers in Fish and Wildlife services. As a research biologist, work in agricultural fields as a professional biologist or further their career in graduate school.

Biomedical Students typically majoring in Biology, take a broad spectrum of courses in biology, mathematics, chemistry, and physics. Students in the program have opportunities to do tactile learning in courses like anatomy and physiology with Faculty support.

Career Opportunities
Students are prepared to enter professional schools to pursue a career in Medicine or Physician's Assistant. Some have chosen professions in Pharmacy, Physical therapy, Chiropractic's, Optometry, Dentistry, and research or graduate school.

Molecular Biology
Our molecular biology program enables students to learn the fundamental principles of biology and helps them understand the relationship between biological principles by developing their ability to think critically, gain essential professional skills such as interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and developing solving skills including scientific inquiry. Students are also encouraged pursue research in conjunctions with faculty and through the 491-494 research class series.
